I am feeling very emotional, overwhelmed and so grateful to find that I have been included in Her Majesty The Queen’s Birthday Honours List 2018.
I am overjoyed to announce that I have been awarded a BEM (British Empire Medal) and I feel sincerely humbled by the enormity of this honour.
Helping so many people in Chris’s (Snooky) memory has at times been extremely rewarding and yet emotionally difficult, but I am completely thrilled that The Snooky Trust Charity has been recognised for all of the incredible ways it has helped so many people over the past 11 years.
When I founded The Snooky Trust Charity in 2007 and opened the Snooky Shop, one of my ambitions was to create an activity to raise funds through music. Thankfully, this ambition has now been achieved with Snooky Fest being in its second year. I am really grateful to everyone that has got behind the Snooky Fest team and helped create something that we all think supports and encourages people to visit Dawlish and help make our town somewhere to be even more proud of. This in turn helps to raise funds for 18 to 40 year olds who have a physical illness of any description.
I am completely grateful to everyone who has supported The Snooky Trust Charity and to everyone who has helped, if only in a small way. It means the world to me and without this help, The Snooky Trust Charity wouldn’t be where it is today.
This honour has proved to me that if you follow your dreams, only good things can ever happen if you believe they can, and never give up no matter how hard the journey can be at times. Helping other’s and making people smile is one of the greatest gifts you can give.
See you all at Snooky Fest 2018!
